Dustin’s Words provides people who can’t speak an easy way to send simple text messages over a distance, which helps both the caregiver and the person using the device have a little more independence. I had the honor and opportunity to work on some early product visualizations of the device for him.
I was lucky enough to go to the Brandcenter with a great Experience Designer, Matt Reamer, and he reached out to me after we graduated to help him build a 3D mock-up of Dustin's Words. It's a device designed for autistic people without verbal abilities to communicate with their caregivers. Dustin is his brother. He's an amazing person and it was an honor to work on this with him.
This was designed, lit and rendered in Cinema 4D based on sketches and prototypes of Matt's device.
Some early versions of the device.
